Birthday Parties for Kids & Teenagers
Children's parties should be casual. You can goof on one or two details and they won't know or give a good g'day one way or the other. All you need is some great birthday party games, kid-friendly food, party favors, decorations and a willing crowd. You can go a little nuts once your child becomes a teenager however, little kid's parties are a breeze to pull off once the details are covered.
Kids love and live for party favors. With a little imagination, you can send little guests home with a cherished token and a fond memory of your child's birthday. One of my favorite ideas is personalized chocolate bars, complete with the birthday kid's name and date of the party. All the kids will love them and you can save one as a keepsake of the party. Another great party favor idea for kids of all ages is to give each child personalized M&Ms - You can have M&Ms customized with the birthday child's name and picture and choose from a variety of fun containers! I love this!
One of my favorite birthday decorating ideas is to toss wrapped candy and birthday confetti all over the food table or just down the center. It's fun for children or adult parties and your guests will love it. Buy birthday candy, including piñata candy online. And remember to fill a few bowls with M&Ms. Customized M&Ms are even better, and will delight all the kids, especially the birthday child who will feel extra special having M&Ms customized with their name and picture on them! And my latest new trick: Toss Silly Bandz on tables, too! Fun! :-)
Music will always liven up a party and a CD with kid's birthday party music is ideal. Have it playing as guests arrive and throughout the party to keep children in the party mood.
Balloon drops always get lots of "oooooos and ahhhhhhhs" from any age crowd. You can also order birthday balloons online for anyone special celebrating a birthday. Send birthday balloons directly or have them delivered to enhance your party.
A bubble maker at the party is loads of fun for little and bigger kids, too. Set this bubble machine up and let it entertain the munchkins by blowing bubbles all day long. Best for outdoor parties.
A new very cool and very fun trend is to have a chocolate fountain set up with cut fruit, berries, marshmallows, cookies and anything else you can think of that would be good dipped in luscious chocolate. This works great for adult and kid parties. Chocolate fountains can be set up at the dessert table, on the main food table or stand alone in a place of honor. Guests will mingle and have a blast dipping goodies in awesome flowing chocolate.
The latest in great party surprises is creating custom soda bottle labels for your child's party. Use a photograph, the child's name and the date of the party and Jones Soda will create awesome and delicious soda in personalized bottles just for your kid. Jones Soda is already a huge pop culture phenomenon in many parts of the U.S. Your child will love these custom bottle labels and the unique and standard soda flavors will delight and surprise your guests.
While you're customizing soda bottles, do the same with personalized birthday water bottles! You'll definitely want to offer water as well as soda, juice and/or milk for kid's parties. Patying kids get dehydrated quickly! :-)
A sure-fire way to get guests and even the shyest kids involved and having fun is to have single use birthday party cameras laying around. Kids can randomly pick up a camera and take candid shots of the other guests. Your kid will have great party pictures and if you develop duplicates, they can be sent to each guest in the picture in their thank you card. I highly recommend having birthday party cameras laying around on tables at all parties. It's a perfect ice breaker and pays off huge for a relatively small expense.

I always have at least one beautiful arrangement of fresh cut flowers and festive balloons to compliment the party decor. This will add the finishing touches to your gorgeous room. A table centerpiece helps make the room look festive and makes it easier to lay out your party food around the centerpiece. A sprinkling of birthday confetti on the table adds a little whimsy. For extra fun, lock on a roll of fun toilet paper in the bathroom to keep little guests giggling and feeling festive. :-)
