Rexanne.com Mission Statement/About Rexanne.com and its creator, Rexanne Mancini.
Rexanne.com, the domain, was started in 2000 after I, Rexanne Mancini, built numerous pages on AOL's free web page builder, back in 1998. The original page, Rexanne's Page for Parents (AOL has since removed all member pages) was created when I decided to build a web page around what I was most passionate about. At that time it was parenting and children and both continue to fuel my passion today. That was the beginning of what would become Rexanne.com, an extensive and informal parenting and family web site, dedicated to helping parents not screw up their precious kids.
Another main focus of this web site is to spread my key parenting philosophy, that love is the most important aspect of parenting. Loving and teaching our children to be lovable and to love others in return is, in my heart, the most valuable role of parents in today's society. Love transcends all cultures and religions. I believe that love is the cornerstone of our evolution and that it is especially important for kids to feel loved and be loved unconditionally. Sure, we have to guide and discipline our children to help them become the best citizens they can be. Starting with love is key. A loving child will not bully another child, a loving child will have compassion for all beings, a loving child will spread love instead of hate in a world so desperately in need of more loving energy and a loved child will have a better, more positive life. I have been called a "kinder, gentler Dr. Laura" and am honored to be compared with Dr. Laura Schlessinger, whose parenting advice, integrity and mission in life I highly respect.
I am most passionate about raising kids with kindness, love and accountability; a holistic approach to health and well-being; educating parents on how best to raise a healthy, happy child, raising my daughters with class, to be lady-like and with personal accountability. I am also passionate about animal protection and rescue. I am outspoken, honest and not afraid to stand up for what I believe is right or wrong. For those who are curious, my spiritual beliefs are most in line with Buddhism although I do not actively participate in any organized religion. I believe in a higher power, I believe we are accountable to the universe for our actions and thoughts and I believe in love above all else.
While this site is funded by affiliate marketing and by paying advertisers, you will never find an advertiser, product or merchant on this site that I am not 100% sure will be a positive experience for you. If one of my site visitors ever has a problem with a merchant or advertiser, I will be able to contact them directly and fight for a fair resolution for you. I highly value my reputation and would do nothing to compromise it, which means I am absolutely scrupulous about only recommending a product, merchant or service that I know is of high value and above reproach. Trust is earned and I highly value the trust my site visitors have given me over the years. All revenue generated from this site helps defray the costs of maintaining these pages, keeping them online and always available. A portion is donated to various charities. Every now and then, there's enough left over to take my kids for an ice cream. ;-)
As stated in my privacy policy, your privacy and personal information is only used to make your on site experience the best it can be and to help me track what you all want this site to focus on, when applicable. Your email address or any personal information that might be offered is held in strict confidentiality and will never be sold or shared with anyone or an organization, period. It's just that simple.
I welcome email from site visitors. If you are having a problem at home, please feel free to contact me and ask my advice if you feel the need. While I do not hold a degree or a license to practice family therapy, I have the gift of common sense and experience raising two daughters which I am happy to share with other parents and those in need of constructive advice or a friendly shoulder. My inbox sees more than 10 thousand emails a day, most of which are junk mail. I append a subject line to all email sent from my site (typically "Site-Visitor") and will be more likely not to mistakenly delete your email if you leave that subject line intact.
