Dr. Carl wrote:
"I find it amazing that people will spend thousands and thousands of dollars on
naming and treating diseases instead of learning how to be healthy in the first
place. Spend your money on loving yourself with health instead of participating
in the drug and surgery war on disease."
To read the rest of Dr. Carl's interesting and IMO, rational take on
immunizations and the state of our health, it's in the topic of the month thread
from last month on our forum:
http://forum.rexannes.com/showthread.php?p=866#post866
(start from the bottom up).
And Rexanna wrote in response to Dr. Carl:
"While I respect Dr. Carl's right to an opinion, I do wish he might have found a
friendlier way to put it in writing - if not for the vouching by Rexanne, I
might have thought a real weirdo was on the loose *grin*."
Thank you both for contributing and sharing your opinions and feelings about
immunizations. The beauty of the Internet is that we can all communicate our
ideas and hear from others with similar or opposing views. Please add your
voice, too! You can be as anonymous as you want or not - We're all in this
parenting struggle together ... your input is invaluable.

Parenting & Family Topic of the Month: Convicting a child (Again)
I am again outraged by the barbaric and archaic judicial system in parts of our
world and especially, certain places in the United States. The current Genarlow
Wilson case (http://www.wilsonappeal.com/index.php)
has me yet again crying for justice and rational thought.
Genarlow Wilson is a 17 year-old boy, convicted as a child molester and for rape
of a 15 year-old girl under a legal technicality after she willingly performed
oral sex on him at a party a few years ago. While her family did not press
charges, one of the kids at the party thought it would be good fun to video tape
their antics. When a detective found the tape, all bets were off and an
over-zealous (IMO) district attorney jumped all over the case and created this
nightmare.
What is particularly horrible about Genarlow's sentencing is that he was
sentenced under an archaic Georgia law claiming oral sex as a more heinous crime
than statutory rape, consensual or not. The laws are very muddled and you will
have to read this story and details yourself to understand the particulars. What
I want (no, NEED) to say is this:
While I am the mother of two teenage daughters, I cannot condone sending
Genarlow Wilson to prison for 10 years for a crime that none of the other boys
at the party were convicted of, even though they were "caught on tape" just as
Genarlow was. Genarlow refused to plea bargain and claim he was a child molester
for a lighter sentence because he did not want to go through life with the
stigma of child molestation hanging over his head. He also felt that he did not
deserve to be punished and he honored his beliefs and faith in the judicial
system while the other 5 boys who were arrested on the same charges caved to the
pressure.
Genarlow Wilson was an honor student, a football player, track star and an
all-around good kid. He is now in prison for the next ten years of his life.
Where is the justice here folks? What good will come of ruining this boy's life?
Even the jurors were appalled by the lack of clarity and justice in his
sentencing. In fact, the law that helped convict Genarlow Wilson has since been
overturned although the higher Georgia court refuses to make it retroactive in
Genarlow's case. WHY?!!!
Sex offender laws are supposed to protect our children, not destroy them! I urge
each of you to read the evidence in this case and make up your own minds about
the verdict and outcome:
Genarlow Wilson
If you feel as strongly as I do that this conviction is a horrible travesty of
justice, I urge you to sign the online petition to free Genarlow Wilson, who has
already served more than 2 years injail:
Genarlow Wilson Appeal
Your thoughts, opinions and questions are very much needed and wanted. Please
let your voice be heard on our forum: All opinions and thoughts about Genarlow
Wilson's case are welcome:

Tip or Trick of the Month: Cardboard Tubing
Cardboard tubes (from toilet paper, paper towel and wrapping paper rolls) make
super holders for many other things. Use them to store clean plastic bags from
the market, stick a small present inside and wrap as usual, cut and wrap a
cardboard tube around an opened roll of wrapping paper to keep it from
unraveling, keep wires and electrical cords from tangling by running them
through a cardboard tube, store children's art work rolled inside, etc.
Have you used a cardboard tube for something not mentioned? Please share your
idea!

Time Waster of the Month:
Pretend
You're Jackson Pollack
(Because life is supposed to be fun!)
This is a little mindless fun. Create an abstract work of art. When you right
click your mouse, the color changes and you can splatter as much paint on the
screen as you want, in any pattern. Print out your masterpiece if you've created
something worthy of framing. :-)
Feed the kids first ...

Featured Site of the Month:
The
Bloggy Doggy
Friends of mine have started this blog to help animals in a Southern Nevada
animal shelter. They have just instituted a "high kill" policy where they once
were a "low kill" sanctuary for abandoned pets and strays. The situation at the
shelter is OMG horrible. The Bloggy Doggy is an effort to help, plus you can get
to know some extraordinary people and read about Joe's dog, Ernie, who is too
cute for words.
