Welcome all newcomers and faithful readers!

I've been in Las Vegas the past week and barely survived the fun. :-) I love that city and the good times always outweigh the exhaustion when I return so I keep doing it to myself. LOL - Actually, this was a business trip and I did accomplish a lot while not partying the nights away.

It's a busy month! St. Patrick's Day is March 17 - Find fun St. Patrick's Day information and goodies on this site: Rexanne's St. Patrick's Day

And Easter is almost upon us! Yikes - it's an early one this year (March 23) so be ready to celebrate and wow the kids with Easter baskets, egg hunts, candy and all the trimmings. :-) You'll find everything you need for Easter at: Rexanne's Easter

We're all entitled to our opinions, Jason. That's what our forum is for: Spanking Discussion
This controversy doesn't ever seem to end and there are differing opinions and circumstances in the above forum thread about spanking children. Please voice your opinion on the board so we might all better understand the issue from all sides and help others decide for themselves what is best for their child.

While I would love to help each person who asks what to do for their child's party, I just don't have enough time in the day. That's why I built an entire section of my site dedicated to birthdays: Birthdays by Rexanne - Everything I know or can advise about birthdays for all ages is on these pages, including a lot of great party tips from readers. Please browse the birthday pages. I'm sure you'll find a lot of information that will help you create a birthday celebration for your son that will make him happy and make it easier for you. If you still have questions, I'll be happy to try to help with the details.

Parenting & Family Topic of the Month: Baby Tooth Stem Cell Research
By Rexanne Mancini

With more than six billion dollars spent each year on stem cell research, scientists were bound to stumble onto something extraordinary, not the least of which is that stem cells abundant in children’s primary (baby) teeth are a treasure trove of harvestable stem cells. These stem cells could save your child’s life, reverse a deadly disease or potentially devastating condition in their or an immediate family member’s future.

While some might feel that stem cell research is an invitation to abuse or excessive abortions just to benefit the living, this is not what stem cell research is about. Stem cell research is about helping and saving lives of the living which could include you, any member of your family or friends and, most especially, your child. By the time your child who has just lost his or her first baby tooth is an adult, stem cell research will have made dramatic advances and the possibility for cures of diseases or conditions that are currently lethal will be common medical procedure.

Injuries such as nerve and spinal cord damage that today leave many loved ones paralyzed or without basic functions that most of us take for granted have the potential to be reversed. Baby tooth stem cells can also be used to grown new teeth, which I foresee as a major advance in dentistry. This is truly miraculous medicine and medicine that does not interfere with the body’s natural ability to heal and protect itself from common illness.

By preserving and properly storing our children’s baby teeth, we could be buying them the most beneficial insurance policy available today. If my children were younger, I would absolutely store their baby teeth for potential stem cell therapy that would cure them of devastating illness or potential nerve and/or spinal cord injury. I think most parents would feel the same. I do take comfort in knowing that my future grand children will reap the rewards of baby tooth stem cell storage. It will be one of my first gifts to them.

Bioeden ,located in Austin, Texas is the first company to investigate, research and make available baby tooth stem cell storage and is rapidly becoming a haven of relief for many parents and a potential lifesaver for children throughout the world. Baby tooth stem cells can be utilized for other members of a child’s family as well which makes those precious little teeth even more valuable than the Tooth Fairy could ever have anticipated.

Storing stem cells does not have to negate the Tooth Fairy and the magical tradition of leaving a reward for your kids lost teeth. It’s simply a matter of changing the tradition a little and storing the baby tooth while still leaving a reward for your child in his/her Tooth Fairy pillow.

For more information on baby tooth stem cell research, visit Bioeden today and they will send you a no cost, no obligation brochure detailing the process of baby tooth harvesting and storage.

Clearly, baby tooth stem cell research is making rapid advancements in medical trials. Parents today have an unprecedented opportunity to secure a brighter and healthier future for their children. This is an advantage I urge you to consider.

An ongoing discussion about baby tooth stem cell research will be on our forum and you are welcome (urged!) to contribute your ideas, beliefs and opinions: Baby Tooth Stem Cell Research Discussion
