Welcome all newcomers and faithful readers!

Hi everyone! Did you miss me? ;-) I certainly miss you all when I take the summer off from writing this newsletter and it always feels good to re-connect with you when I return.

Life's been pretty crazy the past few months. My youngest, Liberty, was home for the summer and it sure felt good to have her here. She's back in Denver now and we miss her so much. We adopted a new kitty, Benny, who is sweet as can be, very fun and a general little love bucket. We're all wild for him. He'll have his own web page soon enough and I promise to share. :-)

We became obsessed with the HBO series, True Blood over the summer, too. Wow, is anyone else a serious Trubie? I created a True Blood store to give me an outlet for the passion I have for this show. If you haven't yet become a True Blood fan, I highly recommend it! It's really, really good. :-) I'm currently wearing my Merlott's T-shirt and drinking from a Merlott's coffee mug. Small things make me happy. :-)

We've also been de-cluttering our space, with the invaluable help of our new cleaning lady, Julia and it feels great! I'm energized and open to all the new, now that the old and the dust bunnies have been removed. :-)

How did your summer go? Please let us know how you've been and what's going on in your life!

Most of our kids are heading back to school. Big doings! Hope your kids are settling back into a "school day" routine easily, after being able to sleep in and play all summer. The transition is never easy for us. Hope you're doing better than we are!

[Rexanne's note: I absolutely believe that de-cluttering and clearing our living spaces helps us all live better, more productive and fulfilling lives. It has always proven to stimulate our lives in a better direction after removing obstacles and clutter from our paths. This article by Vicky White gives some valuable information about setting the stage for your children to thrive. If your child is having trouble in any area of life, consult the Bagua map (link in the article) and clear that section o f their room. You will see a transformation of energy almost immediately.]

Parenting & Family Topic of the Month: Support your Child with Feng Shui
By Vicky White

Fall is almost here in the Northern Hemisphere, and back-to-school energy is everywhere. The malls are full of harried parents and children in tow, in search of the perfect new outfit for the school year.

By using Feng Shui to give them a bedroom makeover you'll have more impact on your child's energy, learning and creativity than any new outfit could.

Just as for adults, harmonious energy in a child's bedroom encourages good study habits, promotes greater success in school and creates well-adjusted children.

Top 10 Feng Shui tips for your child's success and well-being:

Kid's Site of the Month: David Suzuki's Environmental Page for kids

This is a good site to get your kids at least thinking about global issues and preserving, protecting and preserving nature and their environment. I especially love that the author encourages kids not to waste energy and gives them tips on how they can be proactive. Maybe they'll learn to shut the lights when they leave a room? Well, we can hope. LOL

Freebie of the Month: Goog411

Rexanna sent this link and I love it. How about a free 411 service with a human voice that connects you to the number? Google gives it to us. Yesss! :-) Here's what Rexanna wrote about this service:

"The voice at the other end says, "City & State." I say, "Mitchell Indiana." He says, "Business, Name or Type of Service." I say, "Golf Course" & he starts reading off names of golf courses in the area, I pick from the selection and HE says "I'll connect you"

Thanks Rexanna!

Tip or Trick of the Month: Uses for old lunchboxes

Speaking of lunchboxes, have you discovered that old lunchboxes make excellent storage vessels? Many of them are highly collectable, too, so holding on to them is kinda cool but they take space so use them! Here is a list of what I store in my children's old lunchboxes:

Photographs

Arts & Crafts Supplies

Recipes

Cocktail napkins

Plastic party utensils

Souvenirs

Keepsakes

Small kitchen accessories

Coupons

Kid's snacks (boxed raisins, fruit snacks, candy, etc.)

Stamps, envelopes, address labels, stationery

Checks and check registers

Business cards

Makeup & cosmetics

Costume Jewelry

Accessories

Kid's action figures and small toys

CDs and DVDs

Sticker collections

Pencils, pens, sharpies, erasers, etc.

Have any to add to the list? Please, let us know!
