Welcome All Newcomers!
We have dads and grads this month. Somehow, dads always get a raw deal. They must share
their month with the grads. I suspect they couldn't care less. Dads are such good sports. ;-)
We have a really terrific dad & mom team as sponsors for this issue. Get a free copy of Bully Free Tips just by visiting their web site. Let them know you found them through
Rexanne's Web Review. Our sponsors and advertisers need to know their promotions are working!
And for our grads out there ... congratulations! Go tackle that world just waiting for your brilliance. One of the best presents I can think
of offering our grads is MY favorite ezine, InstaMom. Not only does
InstaMom have great short & sweet content for dorm rats, it provides
invaluable tips, tricks, information and great easy recipes.

Reader's Comments:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Last month a reader sent in a tip about the head lice remedy, Lindane. Sandy had this to say about it:
"I FLIPPED when I saw someone saying to use Lindane for lice. That stuff has KILLED and HURT children. It's a pesticide, a POISON! I
battled for months with lice and the ONLY thing that worked is "Not Nice to Lice." There is no poison in it. It's totally safe. I found
this site: Safe To Use - Click on lice. Lindane should be
banned."
Wow ... thank you Sandy. Parents, please be very careful. There are plenty of poisons we routinely administer to our children that should
also be banned but aren't. We need to question everything, even when doctors and pediatricians assume it's safe. They are only telling you what they have been told by the drug companies. Grrrrr ... this is one
of my major battles. I will write about it soon, I promise. It's just so controversial. Yeah, I know ... since when have I ever cowered in
the face of controversy before? ;-)
"Thank you for the Mother's Day quotes. They were so inspirational and I used them to make a special card for my husband's mother."
Rexanna (nice name!) wrote about the teacher tribute pages:
"The teacher's loved your teacher pages. I forwarded them to the whole list here at Bremen Schools. Day brighteners all over. Teachers do
need to be reminded that the work they do is appreciated."
Food & Cooking Site of the Month: The
Real Man's Cookbook
From our Food & Cooking Editor, Martha Jones, AKA Queen Can-ivore:
The Real Man's Cookbook site is a must-see for all. Author W.J. Rayment offers real easy, real good recipes and more, with humor to
boot. After finding Bill, I wrote to congratulate him on his enlightened philosophies. Part of his reply makes it obvious why he's
my kind of guy:
"You are dead on correct about cans, etc. My favorite ingredient is Campbell's mushroom soup. You can put it on darn near anything, stick
it in the oven for two or three hours and come out with a passable meal."
Queen Can-ivore is also known as The Real Martha. Find her at: The
Real Martha - real easy recipes for real busy, real people. Not for fans of the UnReal Martha.
Tip or Trick of the Month: Birthday Guests by
Numbers & Poison Control Number
It seems appropriate that a dad sent in the best tip this month. Thanks, Stanley, for this great piece of advice and kind words about
my birthday site (Birthdays by
Rexanne):
"Your birthday site has to be the best resource online! Since I'm the party planner in our family (I know it's strange!), I've found
everything I need to get my kid's parties going in the right direction plus things I never thought about on your bday pages.
I have a tip for fellow Web Review readers: Limit the number of guests to the birthday child's age. If your child will be five, have five
guests, etc. It really helps keep things under control and our sons look forward to having more guests each year."
This is the toll free poison control number. Write it down, stick it on the fridge and add it to the baby sitter's list:
Poison Control - 1-800-222-1222
This Month's Time Waster: MiniPutt
Because life is supposed to be fun!
Here's one that kept me mesmerized and will make the guys happy. I found this little gem through Boogie Jack's
Internet Tutor newsletter which you can sign up for here: Boogie
Jack's
MiniPutt is miniature golf at it's finest. Eighteen holes of a well-manicured miniature golf course you can play while sitting in
that chair. Learning to control the golf club is a little tricky, but once you've mastered the essentials, you'll enjoy hours of
mindlessness while trying to beat your last high score. Do pass this one on to the men as an additional Father's Day treat. ;-)
Feed the kids first ...
